~ INSTRUCTIONS ~
Open the overlay you wish to use in Photoshop.
Then, unlock layer if needed, click, drag and drop the overlay onto you image!
From there you can rotate it, enlarge it and change the blending mode of the overlay to get the desired effect! The blending modes I use most are “normal”, “screen” and “soft light”.
I also recommend lowering the opacity of the overlay because you do not want it to be too much. I normally lower mine from anywhere between 80% and 60%.
Gaussian Blur and mask your overlay to match your desired effect.
